Chapter 4
Jasper stared into Xavier's sky-blue eyes. They were pure and clear, clear enough to reflect Jasper's own figure.
But the Jasper reflected in those eyes looked furious and irrational. His chest heaved violently, and several streaks of red had spread across his silver eyes, making him look like a terrifying demon. What angered Jasper the most was that there was nothing in that cub's eyes; what he did wasn't a prank, but because he genuinely thought this way!
He was even more terrifying than himself—he was a born little demon!
"You! Do you know what you are doing?" Jasper trembled with rage, pointing a shaking finger at his brother.
"Of course," Xavier did not back down, his gaze meeting his brother's directly.
The comfortable life he had enjoyed since transmigrating had made him forget how he used to deal with being ostracized at work in his previous life, and how he used to resolve conflicts when they arose.
As a male Zerg belonging to the upper echelons of society, Jasper hadn't encountered a truly difficult situation in many years. He was furious and humiliated. Having lived two lives, how could he let a newborn Zerg cub get the upper hand!
Yet he didn't know how to react—he couldn't exactly use physical force to suppress his own brother! With nowhere to vent his bursting rage, he could only...
"Who brewed this milk?! Come here!"
The teenage Zerg roared in anger. His psychic power erupted like a volcano, instantly blanketing the entire villa. Every Zerg within range felt the pressure of his psychic power.
A secondary female consort ran into the room in a panic and fell to her knees. She lowered her head very deep, not daring to look up. Feeling the pressure of the teenage Zerg's psychic power, her spine bent as she trembled, not even daring to speak up to explain or apologize.
"Has it been too long since you were punished, making your lives so comfortable that you can't even handle a small matter like brewing milk?"
Jasper put on the airs of his past life as a petty manager, reprimanding the female Zerg. This was his first time throwing a tantrum at a female Zerg since his reincarnation.
At this moment, Henry also heard the commotion and entered the room. Seeing the broken cup scattered across the floor, he quickly guessed what had happened. He said to the kneeling secondary female consort, "If you don't know how to serve, you will be replaced. From now on, Ether demoted to a female slave. I will approve a reinstatement application for you; you don't need to return to this house in the future."
Ether, now demoted to a female slave, felt her heart turn to ash. If it were just a punishment by whipping, it would have been better, but Henry never liked to do things himself—he kept those who were useful and discarded those who weren't, without any prior warning.
She couldn't argue back either, so she could only agree.
Henry led the female slave out of the bedroom. In the hallway, a row of secondary female consorts were kneeling. He casually picked one to go clean the room. Then, he called another honest-looking, soft-spoken secondary female consort to be responsible for playing with the Zerg cub before leaving.
Jasper, having vented his anger, also followed out of the room, his expression cold and arrogant. At this moment, he looked even more like a native male Zerg of the Zerg race.
This household farce, caused by two male Zerg children, ended with a secondary female consort being demoted to a female slave.
The male Zerg cub, Xavier, watched as the mess on the floor was being cleaned up. He ordered the newly assigned secondary female consort in the room to hand him the toy box on the bed. This time, he chose a box of 100 interlocking building blocks.
Over the course of the afternoon, Xavier had already assembled all 20 models from the diagrams included on the box. At first, his limbs were not flexible enough, so he built slowly. However, the more he practiced, the more proficient he became. He could hold the block pieces to stack them with his hands, while his psychic power searched through the scattered blocks for the next piece.
Once all the models from the diagrams were built, Xavier began to think about how to assemble a model that was both aesthetically pleasing and utilized all 100 building blocks in the set. Xavier closed his eyes.
He constructed the framework in his mind, repeatedly combining and disassembling the available blocks. His psychic power was rapidly being depleted, and fine beads of sweat appeared across his forehead. Countless designs emerged, only to be rejected one after another.
I've got it.
He settled on the final design in his mind. At the same moment, his psychic power was completely exhausted. A castle made of building blocks rose before him—a model that didn't appear in the instruction booklet and used exactly all 100 block pieces.
"Wow! That's amazing!"
Just moments ago, his mind had been completely focused and his psychic power had been exhausted. He hadn't noticed the Zerg behind him at all. He miscalculated.
Jasper held up a portable camera that was connected to the livestreaming system on his smart terminal, broadcasting the little Zerg cub from every angle.
"Hello, dear fans! Let me show everyone my newly hatched brother, Xavier. Little brother is playing with building blocks right now. What did he build? It's an ancient military bunker! It even has an observation window. He really is a genius!"
Xavier's territory had been invaded, and he was extremely uncooperative.
“Those aren't observation windows. There weren't enough building blocks, so that space was left empty.”
“Thank you to the viewer who tipped 10 deep-space warships so the little cub can buy more building blocks! You really didn't have to. I didn't start the live stream to receive gifts. Instead, everyone should keep their money and buy delicious food. And thank you to the viewer who tipped 10 hovercars with the message, ‘The streamer is the best in the universe!’”
Jasper was focused on responding to the bullet comments and paid no mind to his little brother's lack of cooperation.
"Brother, the 10 Deep Space Warships are mine, not yours. Don't pocket them."
The comment section immediately filled with strings of hahahahahaha. Jasper didn't take it seriously.
“What do you mean, 'yours' or 'mine'? Would your brother really cheat you?”
Meaning, his brother really didn't plan on giving him the 10 Deep Space Warships initially?
Xavier didn't know what 10 Deep Space Warships were or what they looked like; he only knew that another Zerg had given them to him to buy toys. His brother had snatched away what belonged to him, and he was very displeased.
If he wasn't happy, his brother shouldn't expect to be happy either—a male Zerg would never wrong himself.
Xavier squeezed out a trace of psychic power and quietly released it. He secretly observed the video on his older brother's terminal. Three-quarters of the screen was occupied by his own face. Good.
With that, he stretched out both arms as if he wanted to hug his older brother. At the same time, he kicked his feet forward, intending to stand up. Seeing this, Jasper leaned down and was just about to reach out and pick up the cub.
Suddenly, Xavier stumbled and threw himself toward his castle of building blocks.
Crash!
The building blocks scattered all over the floor. Xavier's sky-blue eyes welled with tears, looking utterly aggrieved.
“Older brother, I know you didn't do it on purpose…”
Good grief!
In ancient times, an old man could deliberately fall down while crossing the street, then open his mouth and demand two hundred thousand yuan from the nearest person as a scam. And now, a male Zerg cub tripped over his own feet and took a face-plant just for some Deep Space Warships.
Not an Earthling, though his heart harbored an Earthly soul.
Born to stand above others, yet determined to play the victim.
It was supposed to be an inspirational career story, yet he insists on playing the vicious male supporting character while slapping everyone in the face.
He wanted to ascend to the heavens and gaze upon the moon, becoming a god, but was framed and demoted to a servant beneath another's feet.
Chasing the moon god, servant beneath another's feet—being hard of hearing really does ruin lives.
In my next life, I'll never be a transmigrator again.
“It's—it’s okay. I doesn't hurt at all.”
Xavier turned his head away, but on the screen, viewers could clearly see a single tear rolling down the corner of the little cub's eye.
The bullet comments exploded.
[Waaah, don't cry, little male Zerg cub! I'll buy you anything. Gift: 10 deep-space warships.]
[The cub's chin is red from the impact. It must hurt so badly. Gift: 100 bottles of medicated oil.]
[The male Zerg cub is so obedient! If you came to my house, I'd never let you suffer. Gift: 100 lollipops.]
[I'm reporting the person upstairs who tipped the lollipops.]
Seeing the livestream's popularity being completely stolen by the little Zerg cub, Jasper snapped back to reality and squeezed out a dry phrase: "I'm sorry, brother..."
Xavier reached out his arms again, asking to be held. Jasper thought to himself that it was impossible to pull a scam twice in three minutes, so he picked up the little cub. Xavier wrapped his arms around his older brother's neck and leaned close to his ear, whispering,
“Ten deep-space warships.”
He's still thinking about those?!
Jasper was speechless. He patted his little brother's back and whispered back,
"I'll give you half of today's live-stream revenue. Stop making a fuss."
"Deal."
Having achieved his goal, Xavier let his brother put him down. He sat on the bed, playing with the blocks with a smile on his face. The netizens in the live-stream room were deeply moved by this scene of the Zerg brothers getting along so amicably, and tipped one after another once more.
Jasper had been livestreaming for a year. He couldn't sing or dance. All he could do was cook a few simple home-style dishes to attract the Zergs' attention. By now, his popularity had declined again and again, leaving him with only one-tenth of the viewers he had during his first month of streaming.
Today, with the little cub's participation, the gifts tipped were seven to eight times his usual amount, so splitting half of it didn't hurt as much.
Grumble
...Xavier was hungry.
The viewers in the livestream heard it too and immediately urged the streamer to take his little brother to eat. Jasper gave his closing remarks.
"That's all for today's live stream. Friends who want to see the daily life of the Zerg cub, please hit follow~ See you all next time!"
Jasper carried his brother to the kitchen, where a secondary female consort was already waiting. Seeing the two arrive, she served an abundant amount of food. Because Xavier was still small, he was served a bowl of nutritional paste.
The secondary female consort was worried that the Zerg cub might be picky and refuse to eat. Unexpectedly, without needing anyone to teach him, the Zerg cub picked up the spoon himself. In no time at all, he had eaten every last bit of nutritional paste in that bowl.
Xavier frequently depletes his psychic powers every day, leaving him always feeling tired and low on energy. Naturally, he needed food to replenish himself. After finishing one bowl, he actually felt that it wasn't quite enough.
“Another bowl.”
Fortunately, there were leftovers in the pot. Xavier ate another bowl before he was full. At such a young age, he was already showing signs of developing into a big eater with a large appetite.
After eating his fill, he returned to his room. Having grown tired of the building blocks, he had the secondary female consort bring him a stack of jigsaw puzzles. After completing one, he took it apart and tossed it aside.
Without his older brother disturbing him, Xavier happily worked through the puzzles one after another, entertaining himself. It wasn't until night fell and he felt drowsy that he went to sleep.
In this manner, the Zerg cub lived his life: using his psychic power to explore the world in the morning, and playing with educational toys in the evening.
Five days later, his mother returned.
